The Truth about Travel Adventures for Every Budget & Ability
- Retired Living Truth Seminar Series

- 1 min read
Travel after retirement often looked very different than most people expected.
Some retirees traveled more than ever. Others traveled less—not because they wanted to, but because assumptions, misinformation, or lack of planning got in the way. Common misconceptions included believing travel had to be costly, physically demanding, or limited to long-distance trips. This seminar was about telling the truth about travel after retirement—without hype or pressure.
We discussed the realities of travel insurance, the role of travel agents, and how senior living communities and lifelong learning groups approached travel at the time. We also examined how local and regional travel could be more affordable, easier to manage, and a consistent source of social interaction through group-based experiences.
This session was designed to help participants think clearly about what kind of travel fit their lives at that point, what deserved closer consideration, and how to make informed decisions going forward.
